Earthquake Haibun

Newly added to the Haibun page is “Holes in the Awning,” a haibun I wrote in response to the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake that killed 63 people where I lived in the San Francisco area. See also Tremors, my 1990 earthquake haiku chapbook, from which this haibun is taken, and “The Last Leaf,” a haiku sequence that also appeared in this book. Amazing to think that these events happened a quarter century ago, yet many details are still deeply vivid in my mind.
