In 1973, just before Doubleday published the first edition of his book, The Haiku Anthology, Cor van den Heuvel had a correspondence with Robert Bly that continued into 1974, focusing on haiku. In 2001, with my journal Tundra: The Journal of the Short Poem, I was priveleged to publish that correspondence, together with an introduction, titled “The Closed Door: A Correspondence on Haiku,” and a postscript. I’m pleased to have just posted my introduction and postscript on the Essays page.
