The Haiku Rubicon

Another new essay has just appeared, as if by magic, on my Essays page. It’s “Simplicity and Obscurity: Crossing the Haiku Rubicon,” recently published in Haiku Canada Review, a short exploration of technical writing as it relates to haiku, and how there’s a point when too much simplicity devolves into obscurity. This essay considers how to reach that line but hopefully not cross it. And for good measure, I’ve also added a link to the Reports page for the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival’s 2015 Haiku Invitational results and commentary, which I cojudged (these comments were also just published in Haiku Canada Review).
