broken string—
the floor covered
with worry beads                                                            Garry

        a chain letter
        tossed into the trash                                              Michael

short end                                                                        Garry

last date—

        she studies herself
        in the cracked mirror                                              Garry

the uneven sidewalk—
I break my mother’s back                                               Michael
