All About Haiku Books

New to the Essays page, and also available via the Further Reading page, is a list of recommended books on haiku, complete with cover images of each book, bibliographical details, and a short annotation about the content of each book. I need to add a few additional books, especially those published since 2000 when I first compiled this list, and I will do so when I can. Books are arranged alphabetically in the categories of biographies, translations, anthologies, and other books. These books constitute a standard starter library for anyone interested in haiku, although the biographies and books of translation may be of more interest to those who wish to deepen their knowledge of haiku in Japan and not just English-language haiku. These books, I might add, are among the 4,000+ haiku books and journals that I have in my library.
