In 2009, it was my pleasure to edit an anthology of “galactiku” for Haiku Northwest. The book, Seeing Stars, resulted from a workshop by Penny Harter at the 2009 Seabeck Haiku Getaway, and it won the “Best Anthology” award in the Haiku Society of America’s 2010 Kanterman Book Awards (for books published in 2009). You can read my introduction and also read comments, newly added, by Mike Dillon, judge of the 2010 Merit Book Awards. As the judge stated, “Seeing Stars . . . took chances and produced fresh surprises.” Get out your telescope and take a look!
