Great Chapbooks

New to my Essays page—and not an essay about haiku this time—is “What Makes a Great Chapbook?” This brief commentary appeared on Robert Lee Brewer’s “Poetic Asides” blog for Writer’s Digest magazine in 2008. A poetry chapbook is a shorter book, often stapled instead of perfectbound. These are some ideas on what helps to make a chapbook great.
