The collaborative linked verse form of rengay grew in popularity as a result of several essays in the years shortly after Garry Gay invented it in 1992, and it was first promoted in 1994. One of those essays was by Ce Rosenow, and it appeared in Northwest Literary Forum in 1997. “Collaboration: Exploring Rengay,” newly added to the Rengay page, delves into the influence of collaboration on innovation, and makes the case that innovative developments in rengay, including evolving methods of linkage between verses, are a natural outgrowth of the collaborative process.
