Samurai Angels

I’ve just added the poem “Samurai Angels” to the Poems by Others page. This poem by Judyth Hill is a pantoum. She told me by email that, shortly after writing it, she rolled her car three times in a car crash. The EMTs and firemen who arrived helped her look for the paper it was on—she insisted on finding it before getting into the ambulance. That’s a story that only a poet could tell. My thanks to Judyth for her poem, and also to Jim Applegate for alerting me to its wonderful lines about haiku:

There’s a secret, I’ll tell you:

Haiku is really four lines, but the last line is silent.
