Sōseki’s White Chrysanthemum

You may know the classic haiku, “before the white chrysanthemum, / the scissors hesitate / a moment.” And you may think it’s by Buson. But no, it’s actually by Sōseki, and the widespread attribution error seems to have begun with R. H. Blyth.
