in gentle rain

from across the lake—

summer’s end

cottonwood cotton

in my daughter’s hair

a hint of fall colour

through misty pines

rumours of blossoms . . .

the shadow of my glasses

resting on a book

winter finches

irrupting in the glen—

wolf moon

blue zinnia—

a nectarine butterfly

perfectly still

more physical therapy . . .

turning leaves

my buddy and I can’t find

our flattened pennies
