1 March 2024
New additions to my Graceguts website in the month of February 2024 include the following:
On the Essays page, check out “Learning Haiku from Anna, and Maybe Mister God,” published in Haiku Canada Review in February of 2024.
I posted another essay, “Haiku Conversations: Ben Gaa’s One Breath,” to my Deja-ku Diary blog on 18 February 2024 (also listed on my Essays page).
New to the Digressions page are “Favourite Books” and “Favourite Movies.” The books digression lists nineteen books that I would say have had a major influence on me, for various (undisclosed) reasons. The movies digression celebrates eight favourite movies and links to my Letterboxd account where I log all the movies I watch.
On my review of Robert Spiess’s Noddy book, available through Reviews, I’ve added a short postscript about noddy being somewhat like my neon buddha character.
On the Appearances page (which I’ve recently updated with new events), I’ve created two new carousel image displays—to complement the photos at the bottom of the page.
In the “Parodies and Humour” section of my Poems page, I’ve added “Five Haiku Masters” (limericks). These are also linked to from the “For Fun” section of my Poems About Haiku page.
The Poems About Haiku page now also includes “Sleeping with Bashō” by David Trinidad.
New to the Sequences page is my “Into the Woods” haiku sequence, recently published in the 2023–24 San Diego Poetry Annual.
And on my Rengay website, look for these new rengay, from Rattle, Frogpond, and two from Haiku Canada Review, respectively:
“Something Fishy” with C. R. Manley and Tanya McDonald
“Issa’s Dream” with Billie Dee and Josh Wikoff
“Hymn” with Caleb Mutua
“Nightlight” (about goth toddlers) with Geneviève Wynand
Thanks for reading!
