It Is Not Much
by Frank Ankenbrand, Jr.
Some men
Are born to greatness.
Give them
The Mount Rushmores—
Mountains of granite;
And give their stone features eyes
To scan the future.
As for me,
Give me a moment of truth—
A haiku fragment,
Carved from a pebble
To hold forever
In the palm of my hand.
