An unusual book offering five prose pieces, including two explorations of favorite Buson and Shuran haiku, two narratives inspired by favorite modern haiku by Cor van den Heuvel and L. A. Davidson, and a fine haibun called “White Shirts.” Not a collection of haiku, but recommended reading for all haiku poets. The Buson poem inspiring the book’s title:
