Haven’t been adding much to Graceguts lately, but here’s a whole bunch now, as follows:
One new essay, “The Heft of Haiku,” on the Essays page, describing what may be a new way to think about the size and feel of haiku in English.
Two haiku contest results, plus commentary, available through the Reports page: the Bellevue Japan Fair Haiku Contest and the Australian Haiku Society’s inaugural John Bird Dreaming Award for Haiku.
Three new additions to the Rengay page: “Stick Figures” with Julie Schwerin, “Heads or Tails” with Gary Hotham, and “Olvera Street” with Oleg Kagan.
Four links added to the Videos page, featuring another “Haiku Targets” workshop, a presentation on “Lorine Niedecker’s Exchange for Haiku,” a presentation on “The Weather-Beaten Jizō: Shikoku Pilgrimage Haiku by Shūji Niwano,” and a “HaikuLife 2021 Video” celebrating Cor van den Heuvel’s 90th birthday.
“Finding Our Way” memorial haibun for the late vincent tripi, on the Haibun page.
Alison Woolpert’s “Shikoku Pilgrimage Meeting Report” from Geppo, summarizing my recent presentation for the Yuki Teikei Haiku Society.
A new poem (with Chinese translations) added to the NeverEnding Story page, available through the Haiku and Senryu and Commentary pages.
New updates to the Appearances page, as we finally seem to be starting to have events in person after a long pandemic lockdown.
