One Afterword, Two Introductions,
and Three Poems

To end the year on what I hope is a high note I’m pleased to announce a varied selection of additions to Graceguts. Most significant are two introductions and an afterword, on the Introductions page. From Seabeck Reunion, the tenth anniversary Seabeck Haiku Getaway anthology, comes my “Joining the Reunion” introduction and “Ten Years of Seabeck Haiku Getaways” afterword, the latter an extensive historical description of each of the first ten retreats. And from Dance into the World, the twentieth anniversary anthology for the Tanka Society of America, comes my introduction, “Our Tanka Dance.” On the Poems page, look for a new untitled poem (which has only five letters) and “The Mouse’s Tale,” a poem from 1992 that featured in my political parody of Alice in Wonderland, a book titled A Vote for Alice. This shaped poem also comes with a new postscript that supplies an anecdote about the challenge of typesetting this poem, and how I shared that challenge with Lewis Carroll at least 127 years later. Meanwhile, on the Poems About Haiku page, look for “With Bashō on the Front Porch” by Mark Young. I hope these and other website additions will bring you at least some of the pleasure they have brought me, and I wish all readers best wishes for the new year.
