The Haijin’s Tweed Coat

I’ve added a new verse at the end of my award-winning sequence, “The Haijin's Tweed Coat.” I first wrote the verse in 2000, but unintentionally did not include it in the 2000 expanded second edition of my chapbook by this name. I think it makes a nice concluding verse, again mentioning the temple that appears in the first verse. As Robert Spiess wrote, “The Haijin’s Tweed Coat is very fine . . . with its unique combination of high-quality haiku and clever references to names of haiku magazines.”
