The Way of Tanka

New to the Reviews page (also available through the Tanka page) is my review of The Way of Tanka by Naomi Beth Wakan. This lengthy review appeared in the July 2017 issue (#29) of Atlas Poetica. Naomi’s book is important for being a rare how-to book focusing on tanka poetry. Although it’s groundbreaking and a pleasure to read, it is not without its weaknesses, which this review explores.
