Always something new on Graceguts! My website saw the following additions during the month of May 2024:
As someone who lives near Seattle, Washington, I’m conscious of the Cascadia bioregion. With that in mind, I’ve assembled twenty regional haiku into a sequence I call “Cascadia Haiku,” available through the Haiku and Senryu page.
New to the Essays page is “Habits of Haiku Scrutiny,” recently published in Blithe Spirit in England. This essay outlines what I look for when attempting to assess individual haiku poems.
The Poems About Haiku page now features “The Patience of Ordinary Things” by Pat Schneider.
“My Poems in Wales Haiku Journal” now includes the following two poems published in the May 2024 issue:
pebbles crackling
on granny’s driveway . . .
snow in the air
shall I compare thee
to a summer’s day?
the last firefly
On the Commentary and Tanka pages, look for commentary by Aya Yuhki on my prize-winning tanka (Foreign Language Tanka Excellence Award) from the 2023 Fujisan Tanka Contest.
My Haiku Workshops page (available through Workshops) now sports a generous comment by Michele Rule about one of my “Haiku Targets” workshops.
I routinely add events to my Appearances page, and journals I’ve been published in on the Links page. The newest journal link is Dadakuku.
And, over on my Rengay website, look for my “Warming Up” rengay with Alan S. Bridges on the Two-Person Rengay page. This rengay appeared in the May 2024 issue of Mariposa.
As always, thank you for your ongoing support.
