Vancouver Haiku Stone

In 2006, I was my pleasure and privilege to serve as a cojudge for the Haiku Invitational awards for the inaugural Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival held in Vancouver, British Columbia. I served as cojudge for 2006, 2007, and 2008, took a break for 2009, and then served as the sole judge in 2010, and as a cojudge again in 2015 and 2024. Winners from the first three years were carved onto a haiku stone installed at VanDusen Botanical Garden in Vancouver. Photos at the top are from the ceremony unveiling the haiku stone on 2 April 2008. After that are some selected photos of the stone, which I took on 12 April 2008. For a complete album of photographs showing close-ups of each poem and other views of the stone, please visit my Vancouver Haiku Stone photo album on Google Photos.
